Commitment to Student Excellence & Success
Brendon is committed to success of the students at Houston Community College System (HCC). In pursuing this goal, he believes it is essential to work in collaboration with the Independent School Districts surrounding the HCC campuses to promote the incoming success of students as well as in partnership with Houston's diverse and multifaceted business community to promote the outgoing success of students. Correlating the needs of incoming students with those of outgoing students would be most effectively addressed with a well-developed and established career center, that focuses on all fields of study, on each campus with the resources and tools available to assist those students intending move from HCC to the business community and equally to those making the transition to a 4-year university.
Growth & Fiscal Responsibility
Community colleges are an essential component of economic growth as they provide an educated and skilled workforce that improves the quality of life for individual students and communities. Growth is fundamental and an indispensable key for success. Brendon is committed to ensuring that growth at HCC is sustainable by maximizing utilization of HCC's current facilities while planning and preparing for future expansion.
Innovation for the Future
Brendon's commitment to student excellence and success as well as growth and fiscal responsibility are achieved by utilizing an innovative approach, including, among others, identifying an effective process pursuant to which HCC will implement best practices to increase student enrollment and outgoing student success and to distinguish HCC by identifying business partners and ensuring long-term partnerships and creatively collaborate with ISDs to engage, encourage and motivate high school students.
